Dissecting DDOS Attacks

Join us for an analysis and live simulation of a DDoS attack by Team Cymru and learn some basic techniques for reducing downtime.

DDoS attacks have been around almost since the birth of the Internet. While these attacks increase annually, COVID-19 seems to have instigated a startling surge in 2020 – a 524% increase in Q1 compared to the previous quarter according to Nexusguard.

Our presenter, Tarek Sendi, a Client Success Specialist at Team Cymru will walk through analysis of a DDoS attack and execute a live cyber drill simulation for viewers. Attendees will learn some basic techniques for reducing downtime during a DDoS attack.

Tarek originally trained in cybersecurity as an incident handler at the Tunisian CERT and went on to become the team lead of R&D. At Team Cymru, Tarek works every day to connect with users, partners, and the community at large. When Tarek isn’t glued to a computer screen, he spends his time working in the garden and doing everything possible not to concede goals in a football match.
