About WiCyS NY Metro

WiCyS is a community of engagement, encouragement and support for women in cybersecurity.

Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) is the premier organization with international reach dedicated to bringing together women in cybersecurity from academia, research and industry to share knowledge, experience, networking and mentoring.

Established in 2012 by Dr. Ambareen Siraj of Tennessee Tech University through a National Science Foundation grant, WiCyS is a non-profit organization offering many membership, sponsorship and collaboration benefits.

The NY Metro affiliate was established in 2019 to advance this cause in the New York Metro area.

Code of Conduct

All of our events operate under Chatham House rules. That means you can repeat what you hear at our events, but you can’t attribute the information to anyone. Unless explicitly confirmed, all conversations are treated as off the record and only for background. Still confused? Read more here

We use this rule so that we can ensure participants that their personal opinions won’t be repeated and used against them (or their employers) in other contexts!

We also expect that all attendees and members will treat their fellows with respect and decency. Anyone who is observed to violate this code of conduct will be asked to leave the meeting, and will not be allowed to join our mailing list, slack and meetup channels, and will not be granted access to future events. We want our events to feel safe and comfortable for all attendees as we find that this promotes more high quality connections, talks, and interactions.
